Path Traversal occurrences in Emlog
emlog v5.3.1 has full path disclosure vulnerability in t/index.php, which allows an attacker to see the path to the webroot/file. (2021-02-08, CVE-2021-3293)
emlog through 6.0.0beta allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files via admin/template.php?action=del&tpl=../ directory traversal. (2019-10-01, CVE-2019-17073)
emlog through 6.0.0beta has an arbitrary file deletion vulnerability via an admin/data.php?action=dell_all_bak request with directory traversal sequences in the bak[] parameter. (2019-09-25, CVE-2019-16868)
Why Path Traversal can be dangerous
Relative Path Confusion means that your web server is configured to serve responses to ambiguous URLs. This configuration can possibly cause confusion about the correct relative path for the URL. It is also an issue of resources, such as images, styles etc., which are specified in the response using relative path, not the absolute URL.
If the web browser permits to parse "cross-content" response, the attacker may be able to fool the web browser into interpreting HTML into other content types, which can then lead to a cross site scripting attack (link do XSS).
