Path Traversal occurrences in U.motion Builder

The vulnerability exists within css.inc.php in Schneider Electric U.motion Builder software versions prior to v1.3.4. The 'css' parameter contains a directory traversal vulnerability. (2018-07-03, CVE-2018-7763)

The vulnerability exists within processing of editscript.php in Schneider Electric U.motion Builder software versions prior to v1.3.4. A directory traversal vulnerability allows a caller with standard user privileges to write arbitrary php files anywhere in the web service directory tree. (2018-07-03, CVE-2018-7771)

The vulnerability exists within runscript.php applet in Schneider Electric U.motion Builder software versions prior to v1.3.4. There is a directory traversal vulnerability in the processing of the 's' parameter of the applet. (2018-07-03, CVE-2018-7764)

Why Path Traversal can be dangerous

Relative Path Confusion means that your web server is configured to serve responses to ambiguous URLs. This configuration can possibly cause confusion about the correct relative path for the URL. It is also an issue of resources, such as images, styles etc., which are specified in the response using relative path, not the absolute URL.

If the web browser permits to parse "cross-content" response, the attacker may be able to fool the web browser into interpreting HTML into other content types, which can then lead to a cross site scripting attack (link do XSS).
